The top prospect in the 4th World Baseball Classic, according to Baseball America sports magazine, confirmed he will play for Havana’s Industriales next season.

It was an open secret and finally the player revealed the truth: “I will be playing for Industriales next season.”

Victor Victor will substitute recently retired outfielder Carlos Tabares, who served as Industriales’ captain for more than a decade.

“My family is in Havana and it is now more complicated to travel to Matanzas,” said the player in the TV program La Jugada Perfecta. He is nowadays training hard at Changa Mederos Stadium under the guidance of manager Javier Mendez and his staff.

“He is very talented and wants to play baseball. He is very professional and play outfield brilliantly,” said Tabares.

Victor Mesa, who managed his son in 5 seasons with Matanzas baseball team, stated he is convinced his son will shine with the capital team.

“He has all the tools to continue improving in his rising career. He has proven it so far. I always will ask for more. He has some aspects to improve.”

Some national and international media had shared a piece of news that was repeatedly denied by Mesa himself in several occasions.
